BLACK BEAR HUNTS

New Brunswick has a tremendous, almost virgin, forest area - home to very large black bear. Based on recent statistics (DNR Harvest Reports) almost 5,000 hunting licenses were issued, up 7% from the previous year. 20% of the total harvest was taken by bow-hunting. The total bear population estimate exceeds 17,000 and should be about the same for 2014 - that's a lot of Bruins! New Brunswick offers Black Bear hunting in the spring which attracts hunters from across Canada and the USA in droves, as well as representation from Europe and other corners of the globe. Now, with the increase in interest in Black Powder/Muzzleloader hunting, combined with Crossbow use now permitted, more hunters from Europe and Asia are taking an interest in New Brunswick as an ideal place to bag that trophy they have been seeking. Quality guides and outfitters are plentiful and success statistics are impressive. New Brunswick is a name well represented in P&Y and B&C records. Combine this with safe, comfortable lodging, food "fit for a king" plus hospitality "second to none" and you have a hunting adventure that you will certainly want to repeat! - and do not forget your fishing tackle as most outfitters offer salmon, bass, trout etc. fishing as well!
